A lot of times, the greatest danger is the one you can’t see or smell. Sometimes, as in the case of a gas leak or a flammable fume leak, you may be working around these conditions all day and not notice. Sometimes, fumes don’t carry odors at all, but are still very dangerous.

These are times when it’s important to know what’s in your atmosphere and how a flame could effect it. Even a spark is enough to trigger a gas leak. The rubbing of a match head, the flick of a lighter or a lit cigarette can all ignite a fire from fumes that could burn or explode. Within a second, there could be horrible loss of life and property damage.
