There are 27 bones in each hand.. how many would break if stuck in a machine?

by admin on October 15, 2007

The human hand is a wonderful piece of nature’s machinery. Thanks to our opposable thumbs and articulating joints, we are able to shape our hands into a variety of tools for grabbing, pushing, lifting, pressing and a whole collection of other intricate and complicated tasks. Our collective hands have built all that civilization knows and are responsible for the industrial revolution, the technological revolution and everything we’ve ever made.

Now imagine what happens when we don’t take care of our hands. Imagine when a careless mistake puts those hands in jeopardy. It takes fractions of a second for a hand to be completely destroyed in a saw, press, extruder or any other machine. Even something as simple as a door closed to fast or a gate closed improperly can damage or completely incapacitate a hand.

So we remind all of your employess with our SD007-01 vinyl 5″ x 3″ decal to “Keep Hands Clear”. We also have the SD100 Safety Yellow, red and black vinyl decal in 3″ x 3″. You may want to consider our SD006-07 Decal as well. These are great reminders for any machine, process or location that may present a danger to hands or fingers.
