What’s the chain of command for handling injuries in your facility

by admin on October 6, 2007

For all of the money and time spent on safety regulations in buildings, I’m surprised by the number of people who don’t know who to report an injury to. Is it your boss? A safety manager? human resources? a safety coordinator? the maintenance crew? A crew foreman? It’s literally a different person at each company!

It’s important to know who in your facility to report to and to have a procedure for reporting injuries. We’ve developed the SD010-03 Vinyl Safety Decal to place at each workstation, reminding the employee to contact the appropriate safety personnel in case of an injury. If you couple this with one of our safety compliance or injury logging charts, you have a complete system for tracking and minimizing injuries in the workplace.
